Sep 28, 2019 Lightroom is a gold standard in photo editing software. Apple Photos is no behind either with built-in editing options. Read the comparison below to find more.
I use Lightroom as my primary photo editor and organizer. I like it that way, but I miss some of the iLife and .Mac features of iPhoto.
I went into the 'Advanced' tab of the iPhoto Preferences and de-selected the 'Copy items to the iPhoto Library' option. I figured that meant that iPhoto would simply reference the existing photos from the location that I have my Lightroom photos organized without copying them into the iPhoto container. However, it doesn't appear to be working as I expected. I went into the iPhoto container and opened the 'Data' folder and where I found a local copy of all of the photos that are in my Lightroom collection, so it is copying over the photos contrary to what that preferences option implies. To add to the confusion, if I do a 'Show File' for a picture directly from inside iPhoto, it opens to display the file that is in the folder containing my Lightroom images, which is what I would expect if I hadn't seen the files in the 'Data' folder above. I also tested editing one of the photos in iPhoto. It creates a copy of the edited file in the 'Modified' folder of the iPhoto container. This is how I expected it to behave, so I'm happy with that result. I am not expecting iPhoto to recognize any edits that I have made to my photos in Lightroom since Lightroom doesn't make any edits directly to the photos (it saves the edit information in its database separate from the photo). Any idea why those photos are being copied to the 'Data' folder in the iPhoto container when I told it not to copy the files? Lightroom Classic Import Photos

Import Photos To Lightroom Cc
What exactly do you want to do?
In Photos ypu can select the Photos and use 'File > Export' to export the photos to a folder in the Finder. Apps for mac. https://elderever620.weebly.com/mp3-trimmer-app-mac.html.
But you do not need to import the RAW files to Photos, if you do not want to use Photos. You can use Image Capture and import from your card or camera to a folder in the Finder and then to Lightroom. And Lightroom has probably an option to directly import into LIghtroom but I never used it.
